I think I remember you saying you had a set of scales for weighing all 4 corners

Nice rack Chris! Is your wheel fixed up yet?? How bad was it bent from the impact?
I think I remember you saying you had a set of scales for weighing all 4 corners
. Could I bring a pair of shocks up to your place some time in exchange for some time on those scales, possibly??

Re: Chris' car (aka, "project on back burner, building Ark")
I just got back from dropping off the tires and scoping out the rims...I'll get them back tomorrow! They're pretty rough finish, but shiny - looks like they milled the wheel clean after aggressive mediablasting - but left some tooling marks - better than a poke in the eye at least. I don't believe they suffered any bending actually - I weighed them at 23lbs apiece I think - sturdy...hopefully the invoice tomorrow notes a run-out measurement.
I'll get the ball rolling on acquiring the scales, try to locate them this weekend
...but I've got to do some serious garage cleaning. Yesterday I decide to move ~everything in our shop - trying to get the garage in ship-shape before Dad retires. I'm a little excited to say, for the first time in a long time we'll be able to have a car in the garge with a door fully-open
I should have a nearly 12' wide space ~22' deep cleaned out.
It's been a hard week already, our dog (well, my girls) ran out of the yard just before I was heading to the PGP karting track at Pacific Raceways...and the weekend went to hell. Monday a nearby vet told us they had the body
If it wasn't bad enough they called the girl to let her know just a couple hours into her first orientation class at her new job...and now it looks like we're heading to Oly Saturday to get a new dog after going back-and-forth with a breeder the past couple days

Man, sorry to hear about your dog. I hope you find a good replacement down in Oly. I know I'm in for a mess of heartache when our Lab's time comes, it's the first dog my fiance's had and I think she's more attatched to him than she is to me. I've had quite few pets over the years, a few were hit by cars and Dad had to deliver lead poisoning to end the suffering...he's oldschool. Personally, I balled like a girl when I had to put a cat down a few years ago that was only 8 months old...cats are different.
Give me a hollar next time you're headed to that go-kart track, it's down the street from me

Sounds like you've had a lot on your plate.
I know the feeling...
Keep up the good work, man.

Thanks guys, here's the new boy we're hopefully gonna' bring home tomorrow:

I should have an update later after I can grab the rims...and hopefully I get my gussets/tabs to work on the roof rack, but only after I put a head-unit in my cousin's Ford as I've been lucky enough to have him building us a new firewood shed.

Well, the sun is coming up after having rained cats & dogs last night...and our new puppy, Chester, is napping between my forearms as I type...he's a cool little dude, very quiet, smart, & well behaved - we've already sent a couple of e-mails to the breeder to tell them how happy we are.
I got the Ansens/Yoko's back from Les Schwab - where the tech was nice enough to scratch & dent the finish on both of the rims during tire mounting...it's just a Baja, but it's irritating...
My racing buddy surprised me with a 132K BTU Reznor heater for the garage yesterday, so it should be a warm, warm winter! I couldn't keep working away on the garage with it just sitting there, so we made a trip to Lowes for supplies- the one in Lynnwood is pathetic, wound-up in Everett before coming home with enough Uni-strut and 3/8" all-thread to get the thing in the air (8'-11')...still need to order the natural-gas to propane conversion kit and plumb the 8" exhaust out the roof.
Also took a bunch of misc chemicals out of the garage and to the free drop-off out in Woodinville...and built a ~9' long tire rack 8' off the ground over the high-bay. Made a not so quick steel-wheel bench-grinder-stand out of an old 13x10 Aero wheel/Type III hub/944 stub/and the Type IV joint from the Baja - it was welded up solid.
Still no car in the garage - but hopefully by the end of today.

Took a few attempts, but finally got a picture while it was both dry and daylight out
My Uncle, who painted the thing and drove it daily ~20 years ago swung by tonight as well - he was excited to see the wheels/tires looking so good - when he had it, the front rims were 13" at first and then 14" mags.

I still can't believe it's the same pair of wheels! Getting them muddy is a high priority, where we going?
Made some progress on the roof rack today...still no lights, but that's coming up, finally

I looked into PGP karts (my coupon expired)...They're open all winter 9AM-4:30PM Wed-Sun
