You might want to try Empi for the hose you are looking for. The 2 1/4" size is the same as they furnish with their type 3 extractors. Good Luck!

Returning to K&N web site per Ray's suggestion, I found the "find by dimension" tool. My old filter measures about 3.22" tall on ID, 2.94" tall on OD. The triangular sectioned boss on the ID ends of the filter do the sealing (3.22"). The top filter housing has inside lip of 4.87" OD. E-3218 looks like the ticket - 3.25" tall with 4.875" ID.

Upon returning the filter I got from AtlantaAuto, they informed me it was the replacement they are using. It needs shimming with foam tape and will do for now...

The K&N E-3218 was indeed too tall and caused the housing to not close completely.

poop, I'm sorry Bill......I still intend on mailing you one of these filters.....just been busy lately. I'll pop one in the mail tomorrow (Tuesday).

If it works out, great.....if you opt to use the one you have in the photo, then consider this one a spare!

Sorry man!

Thanks for helping me out Travis. I prefer a proper fit, so yours will buy me time to find other alternatives. See you in BC. --Bill

Okay.....now I didn't write the word 'Poop'.......rather, I wrote a sensored version of the ever-popular slang term for feces. What the heck?

(is 'Heck' an allowable term?) If I write "H-E-Double Hockey-Sticks," is it going to be instantly replaced with 'Darn?'

Sheesh.
