So here we go again after a short visit back home.
Next update will be in few weeks time as I am heading back for vacation and then the track at end of July.
Better be with my 2,7 and not the 1915...if I have done my homework well.
First picture out is the engine because this is were the hours are spent.
Valve pockets, check with clay on all four. Clean and clean and clean and then put it together and realize that you need to adjust one more thing....it takes time.
Anyone with Raceware cylinder block bolts knows the feeling to torque them to 40 ft lbs and the crank just spins nicely. It is a lot of torque and everytime I do it I have to check it again, was it 40 ft lbs?
Heads are final assembled but not torqued in place.
The two carburators are just mocked up to see difference in height between 61 mm with horns and 51,3 with stock horns and K&Ns.
Second picture is second time mock-up to see how the DTM fits with 82 stroke, 5,9" rods, E-plus and 3/4" spacers on the cylinders. Just OK.
I will need to clearance some for the T1 exhaust ports and a little around the manifolds to get it to seat but in overall, nice fit.
This is a quick fix but it works. Need it to torque the center two bolts in front of the manifold. 7/16" wrench, a 3/8" extension and some tig welding.
This is the new center panel going in place and moving my instruments away from the far right hand side and inside the glove compartment.
What you also see is the Tillet chair beginning to come in place. Not ready yet.
Finally the Datsun modified double distributor with beautification of the adapter plate. A lot of filing by hand on that one. No functional improvement, just feels good to have it done.
In few days I will also add the progress on my 2.0 TIV turbo engine on location here "far away from home". Got my LA Performance horisontal shroud delivered.
The CF version still pending but coming soon.
Burns Stainless twin scroll merged collector is on its way as we speak.
