Total respect for this. I was busy today too on my 411. We'll have to meet up half way when you get it back on the road. Keep it up buddy. Almost there!

well its been nearly 2 weeks since i last posted what with work geting in the way of thinks lol
i have had a good weekend on the car done quite a bit
done the chassis rail repair
and welded the original panel back in
rebuilt all the chassis section and welded new inner wings repair panels
inner wing and cill repair new floor been fitted as well
all the front sill and door post and inner wing completed
and the result of welding behind a panel without moving the heater pipe first having 12" flames inside the car is quite scary had to thro a bucket of water over it to put it out
hopefull as soon as i get the new front headlight section from volksfarmers i might finish the welding this week

I can't help but think of the Six Million Dollar Man...
plumcrazee412 a Volkswagen barely alive... Gentleman we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the worlds first bionic car. plumcrazee412 will be that car. Better, stronger, faster... [scene transitions to car driving the countryside of the U.K. free of rust]

had a good day today but did not have time yesterday to work on it
the rear quarter all finished all ready for some por 15 and seamsealing
then cut out the light section and welded it in
chassis repair
then inner arch
and the last hole on the car to repair the wheel well and valance
and the removal of numberplate mount as its being moved so cut it out and welded to have a flat finish
so a few hours tomorow should have the welding complet then onto preping

well i havent posted much latley but have been busy on the 412
i striped all the new metal and gave it 2 coats of por15 nice messy job lol
and gave some bits a few coats as well
the i covererd the whole front and back inner arches with seam seal to stop any water geting anywhere and it acts as a good stone chip
its also been shultz thats been sprayed on but i aint got a pick of that
i then started to prep the rear arch with its first layer of filler
then rebuilt the rear suspension while the filler was going off
then the last few days have been getting to this
havent done much filler work befor quite happy how its turned out
i can see a mot in the next 2 weeks
not going to bother spraying it till next year so not to botherd about the preping work just yet will do that in the summer

What can I say, you've set bar for Type 4 resurrections! I feel bad about the cars I cut up now, because I'm not sure they were even as rusty as yours in some ways, though one was sagging in the middle and the doors wouldn't stay shut while I towed it home via tow bar, so maybe it was that one's time to go... Anyway, you tore into that thing like an animal- NO FEAR! I stand in awe of your dedication.

and got the front and back wings all fitted and bolted up and the doors back on and aligned and fitted the driver side lights just to see how they fit with the front
done the same to this gutter as i have with the other side and treated it to a wire brushing and some rust converter will fill and sand down tomorrow night

Congrads mate. Love the pro pink paint jumper. She looks confident in her work. Is she the one born out of the 412?
