Well, I decided to keep my T4 Pistons and Cylinders :)
Anyway the engine has to be solid.
My goal is about 160hp and a lot of torque.
I want to use a low compression ratio, and low valve lift to keep the pressure in the cylinders low.
I think I'll use 9,5:1. Any cam suggestions ? I thought about a CB/Eagle 2244:

On this german Site, i found other Facts than on the CB site:http://www.eckstein-kuebel.de/NWT1.htm
It sais 9,73mm Lobelift = 0,383" :?: :?:

CB sais:
Eagle Racing Cam - Adv. Duration 300° / Dur. @ .050" 250° / Lift @ cam .370" / Lift w/1.1:1 Rocker Arms .407"
http://www.vwparts.net/mm5/merchant.mvc ... ange_high=

Where is my mistake ? Does it have .383" or .370" lift @ cam ?
Any better cams, or advice ?

Regards,
Nick

So now you need some 100mm barrels.

Yes, you'll need new ones.

Some guys like used cyl, because they can
bore them to 101.6 and use 4" V8 pistons.

New ones aren't too expensive. I think about 50-60€ each.
4" bore with V8 Pistons sounds interesing too
Mine are from the 911 Gt3. Fortunately a snip

Hi there,

after a long time of nothing happening, here are some News. I'll try to use Porsche 964 cylinders instead of Deutz.
Head Stud pattern has to be slightly redrilled.

A first idea of a clamping fixture:

The heads were tig welded, cause i don't wanna use the pre-owners idea of hemi chambers. The Edge on the Top is for a second sparkplug:

To get a bigger gasket face with bigger inlet ports, there was some more welding:

Thanks for any tipps or comments !

Off Topic question:
My brother builds an 78,4x90,0mm 2,0 Type 1 with Oettinger Nickies. Problem is, he needs a set of good but payable 90mm Pistons, cause his set has different compression heights. Anyone has an Idea or an offer ? used Porsche 911 Carrera 2,7 Pistons ?

if its just the pin height off, it maybe easier to alter the rod length/offset bore the pin bush?.......

Hey Nick!

Is that the "Bernardo Proficenter 550" machine you recently got hold of?
Looks bigger than I thought it was. Is it any good?

Like I told you before, I totally dig your project, and am looking foreward to race you next summer :D

Keep us posted!

Hey Arild :D
nice to hear from you ! You're right, thats the Bernardo. Sadly the mill is not stiff enough to work on real high precision things. But I'm satisfied with it !

Next Summer racing each other on a racetrack would be great !!!!!
I changed my suspension to KW Coilovers, so handling is much better now

Some work on the cylinders done today:

Seems to fit:

Sadly found a little crack  Don't think its caused by the machining. Seems it has been there before. I suppose unsafe keeping/disassembling of the pre owner is the reason:

Today i began to lathe the cylinders. I did not have any technical schooling,
so everything is learning by doing  Concentricity was about 5/100 to 1/10mm.
Hope you are pleased with my work
