So finally weighing in on the old vs. new. The cast-iron rotors with press-in studs weigh 15 lbs, 13.6 oz. My new rotors weigh 12 lbs, 14.9 oz. So the weight savings is almost 3 pounds per rotor. I'm happy 8)

One thing I was going to install at the same time was dust shields with 2" vents for cooling, but they don't fit with these flat-faced rotors. Kind of a relief, really: that would mean I'd need to drill and tap the spindles, hole-saw the dust shields, weld tubing on them, clearance them properly around the shocks and tie-rods, fabricate a scoop that doesn't look lame, etc. etc. So just doing the straight swap.

Is that with the wheel studs? Screws holding the rotors to the hubs? Bearing races?

It's with everything, just before I put it on the spindle. I borrowed dad's digital scale to use this weekend for a direct back-to-back weighing. Both have press-in wheel studs. I did include the 1/8" steel spacer in the weight for the cast-iron, because I included the same offset in the design of the billet hubs (my CMS wheels wouldn't otherwise clearance the calipers because they're flat).

Here's a pic of the final install. Got some EBC redstuff pads in there too. I can confirm that part number DP3105C fits our front two-pin calipers. For car model, I selected a 1970 Alfa Romeo Montreal REAR pads. DP2105 is the same, but greenstuff. UD030 is the ultimax generic. I'll give an update on performance when these are broken in.

very cool alex, make sure you post photos when it's done. also, making vented rotors would be a challenge at .375" thickness. ;)
