After not finding any more T-1 rod bolts so I can rebuild the stock 2.1 rods. I have re-machined aftermarket rods on the little ends had bushings made & honed to size 24mm so I can have rods for the waterboxer engines. about 30 grams lighter and stronger.

Just a question rocky are these rods stock waterboxer or t1 aftermarket i beam rods.

Those are aftermarket IBeams, probably SCAT based, and IMHO The Way To Go.

I basically did the ~same with the old CB ibeams (good ones) but screwed up not getting the longer SCAT flavor, as the compression height of the pistons is jacked, or at least was. (the newer cheaper CB Ibeams were yanked from the market before I even got an eyeball on one)

You will spend as much having the stock rods reworked with lesser ARP bolts, and these are much stronger, the stock rods big ends on 2.1s are typically ovaled badly at 100K miles... Should not be an issue with these in any usage.

Ok pile understand will have the rods changed.

Rocky just need to know do you sell a H beam rod for the wasser.

Rocky, are those the rods you used in my RJE 2316 engine you built for me?

Using a H beam rod it has to small of an area round the little end to machine and install a 24mm pin IMO. All the rods I use in the engines I build are either stock rods with upgraded bolts balanced end to end or a aftermarket I-beam rod as the ones pictured. Not always are the aftermarket rods in stock from the vendors. I have seen even some of those that needed some reworking. And some that I got, they all had to go back to the vendor. I think the stock rods rebuilt with better bolts are fine to use, the factory used them in thousands of engines. The problem now is finding good bolts for the stock rods. That's why I machine the I-beams and have bushings cnc made for the 24mm pins.

Check with Fusername, I think he figured out an alternate rod bolt.
The stock rod will still be inferior and cost more vs. the SCAT with ARP2000 bolts, and may be too short...

Check the pin height of the pistons you plan to use carefully.

To buy new rods and have them Machined into a 24mm small end will cost more than rebuilding a 1.9 rod set with the non stretch bolts. How much doe's it cost to have the rods bored bushings installed and machined to size?? Again the its not that the rods are bad its the fact that bolts for the 2.1 rods are a problem to find. Are the aftermarket rods better and lighter yes, but are they really needed No. IMO. (Note: I do not have any stock non-stretch rod bolts for the 2.1 rods!!!!) This is why I will be using the aftermarket modifed rods when I can not find bolts.

Sorry , but what is the Limit of the original non stretching Bolts in the rev`s?
Do you Guy`s reuse the non stretching Bolts?

I have used stock type1 rod bolts pulled from used rods ,several times, also from type4 works.

another option, I just bored CB race rods T1 s/ends out to 24mm, not much bush left but enough is enough, it aint going nowhere or it would have by now at 7500 rpm race revs.
