Re: 1776 Microsquirt Street Turbo Build
Thanks Pete, I think my spark advance is OK just need to figure out what settings I need to change or add a resistor(as Mario mentioned to me) so it will stop backfiring and actually run.

Re: 1776 Microsquirt Street Turbo Build
Well, the woods buggy is running again and ready to come out of the shop so Turbo/Intercooled/E85 buggy can get built.
It is amazing how much better an engine runs when the spark plug wires are actually on the correct cylinders, it stopped backfiring and idles.
I hope my stupidity can make a few people laugh.

The street buggy is now in the shop, need to get the 1776 installed tomorrow then can get new upper intake built and figure out air to air intercooler placement. Hopefully I won't make any stupid mistakes for a few days.

I had exactly the same issue. Mixed up wires into the coil inputs. Sorry I should have warned you.

Made a lil progress today, motor installed and intercooler placement figured out. I need to find a TB that doesn't have an IACV and is around 50mm.

Re: 1776 Microsquirt Street Turbo Build
I am way past due for an update on this project, I received anotherMicrosquirt, THANKS Mario and several other parts. I haven't made much progress on engine but have been workin on other aspects of buggy, 10gal fuel cell arrived today and I think it will fit with some chassis modifications, of course I ran out of MIG wire tonight so hopefully will get some tomorrow and have some improvements to show.

Did you ever find a TB? I am on the hunt for exactly the same thing.

Re: 1776 Microsquirt Street Turbo Build
I really wanted a dual circuit master cylinder, so with a few modifications to pedal assembly to clear fuel cell and adapt to Ford Festiva master cylinder made a lil progress tonight. I still need to make a new master cylinder pushrod and modify brake pedal to provide more clearence. I will be using a TB from a 1.9l turbo Volvo, nice simple unit.

A little more clearance! BAHAHA!
Is there anything left holding the front end on?

Re: 1776 Microsquirt Street Turbo Build
It will get rebraced after fuel cell mounting and steering rack are figured out, that way I don't have extra tubing with no real purpose. I do have to remind myself that this doesn't need to be built like a woods buggy so hopefully keep her light.
