**Night Run prep**

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

I would like to but the pedals would be a couple inches off the floor, still looking though.

Yeah, you have to measure your "clod hoppers" to find just the right distance. One thing to think about is that in a rail you are sitting pretty much on/next to the floor and that can come into play... maybe.

I looked into it on my black buggy but since access would be limited because of no hood I didn't go that way. I could have done it with my blue buggy but never thought about it in either of the three complete tear downs. Hanging pedals are easier on your "tootsies" in the long run.

So I ordered the electric power steering parts, new 7/8 shims and pressed the link pin bushings in. Slow and steady I’m trying to be

Want a update? I got a update for ya 😂😂😂.

Had a fast and furious and very productive weekend with Joe aka jt1967. First off I want to say thank you, Joe went out of his way brought parts, tubes, tools and a killer attitude. I had a blast, he wore me out but I tried to keep up. Joe, thank you sir it was a great weekend for sure.

So here is what we got done, first started on the front beam, wasn’t long before the decision was made to cut the beam almost off to correct the 20* angle on it. Joe worked on that while I drank a beer and wasn’t long till we were working on the front shock mounts

We were all over the car figuring this moving that, planning for other parts and pieces to be added. While I added some bubblegum welding to the front end Joe moved to the back to set up the rear shock mounts top and bottom.

We didn’t get around to the steering though this was almost a complete frame most of the tubing that has or will have something attached to it needs some massaging here or there.

Joe spent Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday helping me get this rail almost on its own tires. I can’t express what a great guy he is for taking the time from his family to help us out. More to come rear shock mounts are welded but not completed, will start welding the upper shock mounts, moving seats and other items for the next round.

I am pleased to say after cutting off the front beam and resetting to a respectable angle we managed to get 13 inches of travel out. Had a great time and great conversation with Awesome friends. Round 2 in a couple of weeks i need to let David Re-coupe that was a lot of work completed in a short amount of time. David you did awesome!!!! 8)

Thanks Joe for the quality and knowledge shared. Got some more done, as usual for me it isn’t pretty but it gonna stick.
Stuck the leading edge down then weld, best and clamp
