Couple more things i thought of today..
Malpassi regulator picks up boost reference off of the up-pipe.
(Check me out dropping the lingo

)
T-fitting, at the bottom of it, is that a take-off for a boost gauge, or..?
Fuel in from the pump/tank on the right (pic got cut off

)
Then return back to the tank down out the middle..
Or is it the other way around?
Hats have these weird square hatches on top.
Any idea what these are?
Motor had gone through a few iterations over the years.
Found pics and receipts from different full rebuilds at different shops.
A1 merge header had been modified by welding a T4 flange onto the face of the existing T3 flange.
Makes it easy if i decide to go with a T3 for whatever reason...
I'm guessing some serious apron surgery will be in order unless i go smaller.
CB says only a T3/T4 works with their header, and even then maybe not.
Additionally, It seems they extended the wastegate outward away from the header,
But maybe not enough, or in the right spot.
A hole is punched in the pipe (it's definitely not a rust hole) and it looks like it's from the turbo bouncing around and the pipe hitting the wastegate.
Seems that the turbo was supported only by exhaust tubing..?
It sits close..
Thinking I'll:
1. Chop the wastegate mount pipe to get it angled away from the header.
2. Mount the turbo better.
Because this is a universal case i have those bosses for the Type3/Bus rear mount available.
Think it's a good idea to fabricate a big ol' hanger bracket to support the turbo?
Seems way too heavy to just hang off the header piping..
Lastly,
What's the story with those brass 90s on my wastegate?
The one on the right side runs over and picks up the compressor housing, so boost reference.
but it has a nipple sticking up with a rubber boot capping it off.
Any idea what they were doing there?
What's that other fitting in the top/middle of the wastegate supposed to go to?
I have no idea!
Anybody got any input on this thing I'd be tickled to hear what you have to say about it.
See anything wrong?
Other than the new owner of course!
