That's good to know, thanks! At this point, I'll probably just stick with the TS part I have, it's almost new, I think I put about a couple hundred miles on it with my compound setup a few years ago, and that's it. Hard to let something that nice go to waste if it's just sitting.

Goodness, it's crazy how fast time goes by. I've definitely made some progress, still just doing turbo kit fab. Work, a couple of hours here, a couple there. The header has a wastegate and turbo hanging off of it and it currently installed on the bus. I need to pull it all off again to poke a ton of holes in it for sensors and such, cuz racecar...I mean cruiser bus...but still racecar extra junk that is sitting in boxes. Might as well put some cool stuff on the bus rather than just have it sit.

I've spent the last few days trying to get muffler stuff sorted. I'm not like you young bucks that like to let it all hang out and be wild and loud and free. I had hoped to save a few bucks and let the bus inherit my bug's old 2.5" in/out same side magnaflow setup. I even got as far as cutting all the awful old welded garbage off of it before I realized that there is just no way to make that thing work nicely on this bus with my header. Of course this was realized AFTER placing an order for all of the tubing needed to connect and finish out the exhaust. I ended up finding a different style of muffler from the same manufacturer, same body size with outlets on opposite ends and bought one of those instead, good old Amazon had that sucker in my hands 2 days after discovering my error. Yesterday I was finally able to start cutting and welding this sucker together. Luckily I managed to use exactly the same bends and got the same result I had originally planned for. I feel pretty happy with the end result. I think it looks good, should sound good and should perform just as good as any non muffled setup. Ultimately, not a ton of progress, but moving in the right direction, and am pleased with how it is all turning out.

It's one of my favorite tools at this point. Been a pretty good investment. The hours of welding in this sucker would have made it quite cost prohibitive to pay someone else to do.
Here is a photo of the whole downpipe. Very pleased with how it turned out. The material used is much prettier than the stuff I did the header out of.

I hope they do a decent enough job. The fronts are the set I'm most excited to put to work. 1" thick vented rotors. These ones on the back are mostly just there cuz they look cool

Alrighty! It's been a minute since my last update, life has kept me busy, but I have managed to get in a little time on the bus here and there. I dropped off the rear suspension parts at a powder coater on Monday, and yesterday dropped off the header to a ceramic coater. Suspension should be done hopefully by the end of next week, and the exhaust will hopefully be done by mid September
This is how the intake turned out. Air to water intercooler mounted high on the left.

Now I can focus a little on cleaning up the greaseball 1600i that is going in it, and hopefully start checking other stuff off the long to do list!

What are you going to use for end casting to center plenum boots/seals/couplers?

The stock Mexican boots for now. I'll probably put clamps on them if I can get them to fit.

Put in some elbow grease today. The engine compartment and underside of this old bus has about 58 years of grime covering it. I spent a few hours scrubbing and made a huge improvement. Not close to perfect, but expectations can't be too high for this rusty old bus!
Now time to put shiny suspension stuff under it, hopefully for the last time!
