Hello there, my name is Ronald, I'm from Holland and drive a 411 LE 4-doors saloon from 12 december 1969. Allthough it's a original dutch car the history is (yet?) unknown.
The 411/412 is (like a read before from Tom) a unique car (so uggly that it become beautiful ) and totally different from any other aircooled VW (I had 3 beetlles over the last 10 years).
So this is it for now, I'll try to place some pictures in the future.
Hi, I'm looking for a solid 412 sedan to restore for a daily driver.
I want a "luxury vw" so I can enjoy my commute. My Accord is boring and I can't handle the summer heat in my GL bug. I'm interested in the T4 technology and look forward to building a solid driver with heat and a/c. The rarity and uniqueness of Type 4's intriques me and will no doubt provide years of "mind candy".
Please keep an eye out for 412 prospects near Sacramento for me
i have a nice solid 412 wagon that i think is going to leave Casa de Fye. I think it is going to be easier to title out of state than in state here in Oregon. I am 6 hours from Sac up i-5 at exit 120 in roseburg.
Hi every one, Robert here in the heart of Texas in San Antonio. VW's have always interested me, But never really thought of buying one till I seen a type 3 squareback. When I could'nt find one I spotted this 71 TYPE IV 411 for $150.00. I jumped on it and it is now my project. With gas prices the way they are I might just speed it up a little.I'll try to post some pic's later.
My name is Travis, and I live in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. You may have seen some postings here by 412Jen, and I recently purchased the car from her (although I won't be bringing it home until winter has left us).
I'm no stranger to VW's; rarely have I been without a VW of some sort. Aside from the VW's my parent's owned when I was a child, my first car was a '72 Type-3 Fastback. I have owned a couple of trashy beetles in the past (one Baja), a few more type-3's, currently own a '73 Westfalia (AW-case 1800 with Porsche 2.0L heads), and the '68 Type-3 fasty pictured in my avatar.
I also owned a '71 411 wagon (4spd) for a short period when I was 18, and I loved that car! Financial circumstances forced the sale of that one, and it was a huge regret.
I'm a Journeyman Certified Upholsterer, and I run my own business. I specialize in automotive and marine upholstery, which includes custom auto interiors when my shop has the time, and we aren't over-run with custom-made boat tops.
As I mentioned, I recently purchased 412Jen's '73 2-door, and can't wait to get it home and start working through the car's issues. Some of you are probably already familiar with 'the issues' from the lengthy thread started on her fuel injection and poor mileage woes, but the car is in such good shape that she's worth the time and effort required to get things back on track.
So.....if anyone's looking for a type-3 project, I'll likely have a couple to pass onto other VW enthusiasts, as I need to make room (and time) for this 412. It looks like my '66 Notchback and '66 Squareback are going to need new people to care for them....it would only be fair !
Oldtimer/Chip here. I kinda like VW's (ugly?) stepchild. Very few people are interested in these cars or even know what they are when they see them. Finding parts for my 72 2dr 4spd has been a real bear, but I still wouldn't give it up for the world. Lotta fun to drive & decidedly different.
Howdy,
Names Michael from Australia.Just became the proud owner of a 411 which is as rare a hens teeth here in OZ as they were only ever privately imported.Mine is a carby model unfortunately so in the future i will be injecting the engine. Any good leads on an original injection system, minus the ECU would be great!!! Will be restoring over the next year or so. Don't worry about my username...i have one of those as well (Subaru powered Manx). Glad to meet you all!!![/img]

412LE variant, marathon blue ,automatic was imported by the German ambassador in Canberra as his private car.
I drove up till 97 and took it off the road as brakes were hopeless so I put in the shed till now.
The previous owner unable to get a brake master cylinder modifyed a T2 kombi setup and also a massive brake booster under the seat.
Lucky I have a 411 wreck to swap and restore back to original.[/img]
Cumulus from the southern tip of Africa, own a 1600 bug, a high-roof bay-window kombi, and my latest addition, a 412 wagon. Been a ACVW fan since the early '80s, when I worked for a VW dealership in Zimbabbwe. The type 4 was rescued from being sold to a scrapyard, so needs lots of work, and am hoping to take time off from my busy schedule of fishing and barbecues to restore it to it's former glory.
At the moment the back-end is lower than the front by about 6inches, so I think somethin' could be wrong!
Bought my 411 le stationwagon last year, and need to get it sorted; also belong to www.vwtype3and4club.org.uk
I live in UK, Southampton, Been into Vws for about 6/7 years now, first one was a 61 Beetle Sedan (in South Africa)
Currently we own a 63 Beetle (with a 1600 engine in it and a 1200 Gbox)
a VW Sharan MPV
and the Tunaboat 411 1.7 FI....
Into Comic books and Sci-Fi as well, so i am a bit of a nutcase (as my wifey can testify)
Been living in the UK for 4 years now, and prior to that lived in Ireland Just south of Dublin. Grew up in South Africa, and sometimes do miss the warm weather.
