Tuna, I'll start working on a mission statement. That's kind of in my field anyway. I'll just have to tone it down and take out the "military cliches", you know, world domination, seek and destroy, that kind of stuff.

I've got an original oweners manual I can scan, but the PO must have really liked it as many pages are stuck together, either that or he spilled soda on it.

Was there a 'parts for sale or trade' section on the proposed web site?

Static clings are easy. Almost every graphics shop I know of prints statics. I can also do them manually...table top if need be. No offense...but digital static clings don't do well in cars...and they are not very light fast...yet...and the color richness is poor for second surface vinyl. They are great for small quantity, short notice. Let me know the size and I can price...or simply aquire the stock. Ray

Thanks Ray, it's great to know that we have a source for such things.

One thing that will be helpful for all would be "Known Locations" of type 4 owners.

Perhaps a national map, with a number on each state. for example, Alabama would have a "4" on it, you click on the "4" on Alabama and a list of members would pop up. Each member could determine the amount of info they wanted listed for themselves, like on the following site: http://www.type2.com/~airswork/rescue/index.html
Click on Alabama and you'll find both DB and myself listed.

I like the map idea.

I was thinking about the logo, and realized that since I work at a sign shop, I could probably get the logo etched in zinc about the same size as the hood logo like someone suggested earlier. If anyone's interested that is. It is something I would have to get from one of our vendors, so I'm sure there would be a minimum order of 10 or so. Just another idea I'm throwin' out there. :D

Ecdez,
Are you saying that we could actually replace the VW hood emblem with a '411-412 club logo'?, or, just have something of the same size as the hood emblem. Neat idea.

How about a European style front licence plate with club logo or other info, like web address, etc.

I'm saying that we could have a club logo made out of 1/4" thick zinc (never rust) with the club logo etched into it, and it would be the same size as the front VW emblem with holes drilled and tapped into the back for mounting.

Similar to this.

Take the VW off and pop this on in its place.

Club it!

Post by vwbill »

If you had the bucks you could have the rims made with the club logo with the VW cut/etched like a wash or angle to 3d it in the middle for classic vw center logo look........or the steering wheel center or glove lock or knob covers....Lol..... Hey what about sending them a engine lid to cut.....!!!!! Make it outta something weird like kevlor block or aircraft alumi. something light and a good heat transfer! With all the T4 models etched with the logo....LOL.... Ceramic,lolol...Now you're cookin,lol.. What about a strut tube assemble that is adjust-a-fit for ride and spring and lift????.... If there were one thing that needed to be lazer cut what would you have cut for a 411/412?...bill

p.s. have carbs made that look like 411/412's like the fire hydrant they did on the firefighters bike!.. Make them move with the throttle like they were wheelin....lol.....
sorry worst post......

clubbin it,lol

Ok, Ok, I have the funny laser cut out for the cars you could have it design to create a hood orniment that is raised off the original holes(base) and could be a model of the 411/412 that could ride in the wind by making it out of two piece and go around a ball top like on a mirror,lol,lol.....Or you have a spinner club logo mounted off two points or one,lol...... You could paint it or plate it or make them and sell them in a kit like a model and have those basic eight cap paint sets. The scale is good for material I think? Or the something like the euro country front bagdes?... bill
