Dang. Turns out I've pulled this engine out enough that I really have it down. In one hour, I pushed the car out, pushed a truck back that was on the lift, pushed the car and truck back in, jacked up the car so the lift fit under it, aligned the arms, pulled the lid and all the crap off the top of the engine, pulled the rest of the cold side off the bottom, took the header and turbo off, and drained the oil. Hour and a half should be enough time to get it out next time (hopefully not soon). So tomorrow I will pull the engine bolts and get the engine out, and do some clean up of the oil. My daughter got a 53 ford model at the rc store too and needs some help painting it, so I won't be able to stay late enough to get the clutch apart for inspection.

Got the engine out at lunch. Nothing looks weird to me? The seal was clear out of the trans and hanging on the main shaft though. Clutch and pressure plate were soaked though. I hate to buy a new PP but without being able to check the holding power I don't think I have much choice.

Coulda sworn back in Feb you were contemplating re-doing that ? I didn't see how you finally laid it all out , sorry.

Oh I was thinking the other intake. But no I really never did figure anything out for that. I've been thinking of trying to find some of the stuff like the VW flex stuff off the doghouse for the heat. I've had some that was thin aluminum or something like that, but no luck so far finding any that was large enough.
Mike I will try that. I'm still on the hunt for a main shaft too so I can actually check how well it holds. I hate to buy a new PP just because I'm unsure, but it would also suck to have to pull the engine right back out again.

Ha ha , that's why I said "intake to turbo" and not intake manifold. :)
