damn it .. some fucking junkie broke into my Golf and stole the clutch I bought for the 411 .. it didn't even fit the engine, so they told me to ruturn it with the invoice .. when I came to collect, the luggagecompartment was empty along with some car care products .. I live in the city and it comes with the territory .. I should invest in some sort of flame proof car alert or something! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDrzMGdYWZc

Anyways .. I will continue workign on the 411 to night so I will probably have some new and amazing issue to rant about tomorrow  I Love working on this car, it's nothing like my '70 bug, so I know practically nothing!

hey, does anyone know where this green cable goes? It comes out from the left side when you stand in front on the engine, driver side ... can't find it in any electric charts!

When the engine is turned on, it puts out 12v

no just green. And because it is joined within the plastic "sock" with other cables that comes from the front I suspect it to be an original wire, but I could not find it in the el-diagram!

Sorry I can not come up with anything bettrer than that this wire could be for the oil pressure switch.
The colour doesn't match these wires on my cars, they are blue/yellow (-70) and red/green (-73).

no, accoring to the el chart - this is yellow, and yes this is an original green wire. Hmmmm... this puzzles us...

Do you already have a wire at the oil pressure switch?

On both my sedans the wire for the oil pressure switch follows (are in the same hose as) the red wire for the aux air valve like your wire seems to do....

aux air valve? Might we have a case of wrong wire connections here? :)

Yes, the aux air valve is just below where the manifold tube to cylinder no2 leaves the intake air plenum. Its the one slightly to the right of the engine with a grey hose going curved forward to the intake air rubber. You can also see it in the Glenn's manual page 37, Pos42.

The aux air walve has a red wire to the bottom of it and my guess is that your green one is for the oil pressure switch, or do you already have a wire at the oil pressure switch?

yes, that's why I am wondering if we might have wrongly connected some wires here?

Hard to tell with the info available but as I wrote: On both my sedans the wire for the oil pressure switch follows (are in the same hose as) the red wire for the aux air valve like your "unknown" wire seems to do....
