Why no intercooler when you use efi?
Go for it. Turbos in that size should be around or little less than 30mm inducer compressor and exducer turbine. Ihi rhb 31 for Exempel, cheap, all flanges and lines are available, td025's, garrett gt12 und kkk alao have turbos in than range but the IhI is most common and I would also recommend. There are alot tiny turbos out there. If you want more power put a typ1 engine and transmission in there :)

In case of low boost supercharger I was thinking to avoid the intercooler to keep the things easy and also because there is not a lot of room inside the Fiat 500 engine bay....

Of course an Intercooler would be much better and will allow more boost, but if I want to keep it as daily driver and "sleeper", I think it'll be quite hard to hide it.

About those turbos, still intresting, and fitting one on the exhoust side will allow me to get some extra room for an intercooler.... so the RGHB31 will be enough for an engine of about 650-750cc?I have seen the manifold it's quite small, 25mm if I'm correct.

Any turbo with a 35-38mm intake?

PS. I would love to make a project car with a VW engine, it'll be crazy in many ways

Well, long long time ago, a friend of mine with a highly tuned Fiat Uno Turbo I.E." lost against a Fiat 500...... but that 500 had a massive Porsche aircooled engine, it was basically a 500 bodyshell over a 993 powertrain.

As performance and daily the intercooler is on the one hand a power maker, on the other a part protector. Us it as you wand and if you want.

35-38mm comp. Inducer is 150 to 200hp range.
In your displacement area 1mm is alot. There is pi as factor in diameters and those things spin very fast because of the small size/weight some up to 250.000rpm. Rede the maps of those things and compare them to your hp goals. The Ihi is a cheap, common and easy to fit unit and works fine in the 10psi range.

Thats a lot of info, thank you!!
On those engines, the normal diameter for the exhoust is 35-38mm, that's why I was referring to a turbine with 35-38mm inlet (hot side..),

I agree totally that with such a amall displacements (below 1000cc. and low output... let's say 60-65 cv at most.) a very small turbine is needed.
