Hi Dan,
No, your right; its not visible from the pics, but there an extra pulley on the crankshaft end after the toothed pulley for the fan belt drive. The 964 fan will be positioned somewhat further forward because of this. That may actually also be a better position for the fan.
Roberto even had the plan to position the fan more centrally, instead of to the right side, as is usual. This is possible as we won't be using a traditional distributor, but a DIS (distributor less) system as part of the EFI system.
In the end, there will be a 'sepentine' pulley for the fan drive, in order to save some extra hp's.

Actually, the distribution of the test set-up will be practically done after the weekend

Yepp, that is Mika Jansson of Sweden. One of many versions that he did with singele and double turbo and even one engine had twin whipples.
We have had more VW dragracers like Anders Fridh in a a fastback doing low 9 s on the quarter with similar 911 conversions.
This picture is more than 10 years old...my wild guess.

I think i remember that car racing quartermile at Mantorp Park and Santa Pod.

the idea of a ohc engine in a Volkswagen really isn't new.
it's still a good power/weight ratio that's winning the races.
these Karmann Ghias were Dacon's racing team,
doing endurance racing in Brazil, mid 60s.

Can't wait to see this project come to fruition,. looks like you're cutting no corners and taking you're time to do it right, kudos to you guys.
