Yes, I'am sure it is. Its made of 6028 T6 alu, thesame as the adapters I use on the front with which I drive for some time now

Thanks,
Walter

WOW!!!! :D

That is one of the coolest things done to a Type 4 I've seen in a long time. I love the thought of the big brakes on a 411/412. Keep us posted on the car, I want to see what it's going to take for me to build a GermanLooker 411 someday. 8)

Very nice!

Wally, what size are the pistons in the caliper and what is the diameter of that disc?

Thanks!

Disk is a 299mm diameter and 24mm thick 944 Turbo disk.
I now have 48mm front cups and rears are 44mm.

Nice thing is, the custom adapter/spacer has a hub centering ring which removed the last little bit of imbalance I had "with the wheels :D

I also have replaces a worn wheel bearing at the same time :D
And replaced the flexible brake lines with those of a Susuki Swift, which appaered to be almost identical :D :D

I had replaced all of my brake lines with teflon/stainless. They were roughly thesame cost as new rubber ones. Ray

The other side is now complete and I have driven it: Wow! Much harder pedal and a 'higher' brake pedal, better than what I was ever able to adjust with the drum brakes.

Braking is much more direct and feels already a lot stronger with less effort :D :D

Sweet Porsche combo Walter! Do you have a drawing of the spacer to share? You still have stock master cylinder?

Cool- another question, what did you have to do to mount the 924T flange to the Type 4 trailing arm?

Nothing, BTW its actually the same in outside diameter as the alu 944 part, which is lighter too...
I only had a smart adapter made. That really took some thinking, but it was a bolt-on affair afterwards 8)

Has anyone downloaded the pictures of the setup Wally ended up with? I did, but I had a breakdown of my computer. So I am searching the pictures of the turned down 412 stub axle, the aluminum adapter and the other parts. I've spoken to Wally, but ha can't find the pictures.

Which rear rotor is this conversion using? I have turned down rear 412 stubs I can post pictures of that are going to be using 914 rear rotors.

Mine should be posted in the next month. It is using 914 silid rwar rotors, EMPI cast steel rear caliper mounts which are a perfect fit to use the stock rear bearing cover and have correct bearing race locking compression.
A ateel adapter plate is made that links the cast brackets to a pair of front late 412 twin piston ATE calipers. Parking brake are wilwood mounted on the same adapter plate with stock cable connection. More to come. Ray
