And just like that, my ECU is out for delivery. A week from AU is much better than a month from the US... who's to blame? I donno, but it always takes forever and a day to send anything that way.

Reinstalled my ECU. Verified the IAC is homing when the key is turned on. Installed the IAC on the TB. Started unhooking the tachometer relay... Oops, wrong one. Accidentally unhooked my oil cooler fan relay. Fixed that. Spliced the wire from the ECU tacho wire to run it to the dash...

Question... Will a larger gauge wire (spliced into a larger gauge wire) degrade the signal to the front of the car?? I'm assuming it will, but figured I'd ask you guys before running a smaller gauge wire. I ran extra wires during restoration, but didn't account for different gauge wires.

I don't ´r think so.

But I also could be wrong

The internal resistance of the wire can change so if its a resistive sensor like the TPS is can have a slight affect but it shouldn't be enough to make a difference.

Awesome. Thanks guys. Will hook it up and report back. Looking forward to having a functional tach again. Tuner Studio is nice and all, but after tuning is complete, I don't plan on having my laptop in the car while cruising around.

Removed (engine compartment) and Installed the Widegetman Relay near the tachometer. A quick test of simply cranking the motor seems promissing. The tachometer seemed to want to work... Before it would only move (full sweep) when the ignition was keyed on. Now I have some movement with the engine cranking. Now, to finagle the IAC settings and figure our what the engine wants at first (cold) start. Mick gave me some pointers so I will study those and hopefully get her running soon.

@Chip you have a fuel pressure regulator from The Dub Shop don't you? I'm only getting 25psi when the key is turned on. Doesn't seem to move much when vacuum is applied... My engine refuses to start and I can only assume there isn't enough fuel.

I've removed the IAC, replaced it with my block off plate and turned off the stepper function in TS. No resolve? Thought maybe something with IAC settings was causing the engine not to start, but that's not it.

My fuel pressure only came to 43ish psi when i cranked it for about 30sec

Thanks Rubenski. Can only get her to run a couple seconds before dying... And that's with a bit of starting fluid. 🫤

Ok, I bought a new inline filter and an an6 male/male with 1/8 NPT To bypass the regulator to see what the pump is outputting with the current filter.

My mechanical fuel press gauge is on the left injector bank and my fuel press sensor for the efi is on the right bank.

Tank - pump - fuel filter - injector 1and 2 - T fuell sensor - injector 3 and 4 - fuel regulator - back to under the tank T.

You have it like that also?

Mine died at the first start also because I was taking the vacc. Signal before the throttle body butterfly so it didnt see vaccum.

Just a fyi, if it has fuel and spark it should start

I dont have a fuel pressure sensor on my ECU. Sure would be a nice feature, maybe one day. Only have a gauge on the FPR to monitor...

Tank - intank pump - filter - FPR - 3/4 - 1/2 - back to tank.

Im hoping its either the filter or a faulty FPR. We'll see.

Fpr needs to be after the injectors on the way back to the tank unless you are running a returnless system

Thanks V8Nate. That may be the case, not home so can't verify.

Indeed, fpr is last part in the system.

Is it boost referenced?

What type?
