I actually still have a set of those Wills rings or ‘fire rings’ as they are called sometimes I think?
The idea was to only started using them if the sealing of only the flat surfaces wasn’t enough anymore. Try, look and learn in my case. I agree these are excellent liners for these rings, so maybe for the next round
Never used copper rings tbh.. seemed to me those would keep you retorque heads and never be sure if and when you would be ‘done’. Maybe it’s a type 1 thing I don’t understand
