Another source appears to be from DRD for a few dollars more, supposedly BE machined in-house and balanced end-to-end. Might do the 24mm bushing for you for additional $$.

Getting the small end rebushed locally cost more than it should have, I think my machinist ended up using BBC bushings.

They did come out very nice, bought a set of rockers from the same fellow on ebay, look very nice, but the shipping is brutal, and he does NOT like to combine shipping, so get that straight with him first.

Yes, it looks like he has possibly reconsidered his shipping.
No issues other than shipping charges, and he did partially refund, which almost made it reasonable.

As I said, DRD has them too, already balanced end to end and finish machined in house... It's a toss up.

If I had to do it over, I would try DRD.

Don't forget, the 5.5" SCAT rods will probably work out better with the Chinese piston kits. (QSC or AA)

(Unless you WANT ~2mm deck, which you probably don't)

You WILL have to shave the pistons to set the deck, but you can get it perfect. (tencentlife's method)

Joop, did you just buy the rods and have the bushings modified locally?

Another way to make use of the AA's or QSC's is to use 5.4" rods, have the head bottom surface milled off 1mm (great if you have some pitted heads you want to reuse), and put the heads on without combustion sealing rings, like old-school aircooled. I haven't tried this with a wbx, but there's a guy JoeVW who has done it with apparent success.

The way I used those pistons with the longer rods was as much aimed at boosting the CR as anything else, because I live and drive at high altitudes. Although being in the high 9's:1 static, with the right cam it would be perfectly driveable at sea level.

This works, it's also what I did last time.

I still wish I had known of the deck height issues before I ordered them as I have an 86 on the intake with 1.4 rockers, and could have used a little more compression.

AA and QSC both sell P&L sets for the WBX.

The compression height is wrong on both apparently.

They are of Chinese manufacture, check the parts VERY carefully for specs. IIRC the QSCs pins were too too long at one point, rings may not have fit properly, etc.

If I had the bucks to do it over, I'd happily spend it on the forged custom Wiseco setup from GoWesty.

Especially if I was in Europe.

Have had soooo many problems with Wiseco's in my two stroke bikes that I wil not order them... I think .
Now I have some very low mileage KS pistons the liners have still the hone pattern from top to bottom and some fresh heads.

The logo is not grind off, it is cast on.... (if this is good english )

I think stock rods are OK if rebuild by a pro with new bolts, but these rods (incl. bolts) were cheap (I'm dutch....LOL)

Hey thats cool my brother lived 3 years in Africa, so I know that the language is very common to dutch.

Does somebody knows how to torque the CB rods?
