Ok, there’s a bunch of stock engines with turbos. What’s the thought on no real oil filtration and turbos?

I’m running factory only filtration. But I only have 1100 miles on it turbo charged.

And by no filtration, I mean factory strainer only.

I would say if you have the means, run a filter. If you don't... Then don't. Of course a filter is better but it doesn't always work out.

I did 3500 plus miles on a completely stock engine and turbo.....just change your oil a little more often.

Yeah I don't know how many miles I had on mine, but I put the turbo on my stock engine in 2007 and that lasted until I built the efi last year on a used stock engine. I tore it down last year and it was still perfect besides some oversize ring gaps. The efi engine was stock too and still will be but it was jacked when I got it.

Getting a little nervous on the turbo conversion. This should be the slow season for our empanada trailer, but my Wife booked tons of breweries and wineries. I like money as much as the next guy. But I need time. I want to be back on the road in April and may just fly cut the heads, cut for dual springs and loose the ict’s and put on 40 dells. Talk me out of it.

Oh man you would be so sad! I wish my trans was better becuase I would make a gopro video just for you. I can't really even describe the feeling of when the boost starts to build and you sink into the seat. That's when you start seeing the fear in your passengers eyes!

The brewery scene has really boomed where I live.
Some use food trucks and a couple have their own kitchen and menu....they all seem to do quite well.

Even the Tap Houses use food trucks and do very well.........use the extra money for better upgrades...........

Most of not all tap rooms and breweries don’t have a kitchen around here. And there is always new ones opening.

I’m just scared that I’ll create an undriveable car before I make time to tune and get all the bugs out. I’ll probably still go the turbo route. I have a cam with .419 valve lift in the 1600. I was planning on some 1.25 rockers and cut for dual springs. So the engine is coming out no matter what.

I have a cam with .420 at 1.1:1. It's a W-100.
I just upgraded to some el-cheapo 1.25 rockers that have the adjuster on the pushrod side. They look pretty nice and for $108.00 delivered I can't complain.
I'm going to install them soon. They measure out at 1.29 ratio so that will give me about .495" lift. I will work out the new geometry and I am using the CB 650 springs but only the outers.....that makes for a simple install since I won't have to cut the heads for dual springs.
