Cool. I used the tpe 1 bushing also. It worked well. The short shift kit that raises teh shifter up to change the shift point....was what I was suggesting we could make. I am glad to hear that a type 1 kit worked. Much simpler. Ray

Yes, it needed only minor mods to fit.

How much shorter is the shifter throw? Ray

Not as much as I expected. Now it feels "normal" to me. It got better, but I can say it better when we are able to make a test drive.

Yep, the reason i originally wanted to make one for the 411/412 is that the type 4 shifter is actually much longer on top (the handle part)...and much shallower down below than the type 1 as the tunnel is not as deep.
Putting that configuration into your minds eye.....you can see why the type 4 shifter throw is longer in teh firs tplace. I had always thought that the type 1 short shift kit would not be enough. I was thinking of roughly 2.5 times the height. I think that would put the fulcrum brace at about 5" high.
I had it figured out at one point that I could make the shift throw of the type 4 be about 3" max.
At that height, a new custom shifter boot...perhaps with a square plate like that of a rabbit or Golf.....could tidy things up so you don't see the ugly spacer. Ray

Tranny from Porsche type 915 or 930 (75-77) is easy to install.

It´s waiting on a new garage =)
I bought an old house to work with and because of the lack of freetime I jumped into another racecar ready to drive. So for a while you won´t get any updates of this project. I still can´t wait to continue with this project.

Nice. something like that it's supposed to be. Similiar mechanism can be found for example vw polo etc.
