I've checked that out before, but the tank I have is a little too far gone to ba saved by a product like that. Whenever I do find one though, I will definately treat it before it goes in.

does it work on beer kegs?

Welp looks as if I am going to do the same thing that ecdez has done. I thought for sure the car not having a pump on it and the lines just hanging there would mean a clean fresh tank. Poured some gas in, nothing came out the lines. Took the sending unit of and viola, Laquer CITY!

Well, shucks. If the tank's not rusted out, cleaning with solvent should do the trick. Good luck.

took the drain off and nothing came out. Poked a small screwdriver up it and this goopy black sludge started oozing out. Looks as if when the rain ends i will be pulling the suspension and taking the tank to be boiled.

Man, sorry to hear about the crud!! Hopefully the tank was saved by the slug! I wish I could work metal and hammer one outta of sheet metal on the old tank and weld em up for the crew! It looks so easy when they do it on TV, LOL! What is so crazy is you can get those cheapy bug tank for 40 bucks new! Is it possible to cut the old filler neck off the old one and hose it to a another type of tank or is that just stupid? Can you grind the tank in half and put a box tank inside(like a boat tank or something) and use the halfs as a mounting box? It's sounding like I should have pulled mine too not just flush but to inspect it right? bill

I should have known better, any vehicle that has been sitting for awhile is going to have CAA CAA in the tank, I was just being optimistic. I have several friends that are into bikes and do alot of metal fab, like those jerks from Orange County. Iam going to take my tank to them after I get it back from the radiator shop and see if I can get them to start making some tanks. They will be expensive I am sure, but jeez someone needs to do it.

Ok well I yanked the fron suspension off today, makes it easier when you are going to replace everything on the front, cut the brake lines, pulled it off as one giant unit. The steering box removal was the hardest part, what made it so hard was the stoopid plastic cone around the coupler!!! I cut that bitch off with sheers!!!!!!! (my two arch nemises are now CV BOLTS and that stoopid plastic cone!!!!!!!!!

Wow go far it!! So are you talking about the cone on the inside on the steering shaft that slides up the shaft? Are you having problem with the cv bolts? I had to get one of those correct star looking hex sets from the auto parts store and used a little heat and wd40 and a box wrench on the star hex wrench and visegrips on the sides,lol!. Dont think they are allens. Im sure there is a better way,lol! I got a kit with new bolts but I did try to save the old ones like everything else on the car,lol! So any pics coming of the under side and the dismantle? Must be nice to see whats up under the front! Thx for the info! Bill
