I’ll give them a look.

Kalle do you happen to recall if Nikolai had any special done to the non counter weighted crank in his car?

Also do you happen to know the specs from the HX35 he had?

Thanks

Sorry for my late reply.

These are the specs on Niklas (not Nikolai) engine:

Orginal crank, no counterweights
CB h-profile 5,5"
Mahle 87mm pistons and barrels
Single relief case
Fk-89
lube a lobe lifters
Cromolly pushrods
scat 1,4:1 rockers
Deep sump
Orginal heads, ported but with original valves 35/32,5mm

1 5/8 header
Small air/air intercooler
HX35 turbo 56mm and 3" exhaust.
1600cc injectors and E85
Autronic SM4 ECU with MSD 8245 coils

392hp at the JPM Dyno Day. And here is the classic movie from a not-so-legal street race in Sweden where a friend of Niklas borrowed his car and won the dam thing - LEGEND!

K,

I am amazed that Niklas’s engine held up with a stock crank! Not that I think they are weak just that everything I see about cranks says the case will be destroyed.

Thanks for the reply.

I hope to have something to add to this conversation here soon instead of just questions.

Bug66,

Thanks for the update! 2400cc injectors are insane huge! Any new ETs or power numbers from that set up.

That’s bound to happen playing with the power levels these engines are at.

How long did his standard crank and case hold out? Do you know what failed with that first setup?

Yeah I think its more of a problem with the non counter weighted crank beating out the case than damaging the crank.

That setup put his ghia into the high 8s in the 1/4 last summer.

It just shows the potential if you are willing to play around with your mouse. The long block is not expensive.

So the Mahle 87 pistons and cylinders hold up to 35-40 psi boost ? Just curious.
