plate in motor

Post by vonkr »

Last friday I was working on an T4 engine with someone. Because of motor damage he had bought a other T4 engine. In that motor there was an aluminium plate (with slots) in the bottom. (stupid me  , I forgot to take a picture)
Does anyone know what the function of that plate is?

I try to draw the position of the plate in this picture.

The plate is installed with rubbers around. Probably it is something to improve oil flow or something.

ps. I "stole" the picture from an other topic, sorry bout that

Yup! As far as I know...all type 4 1.7 liters in 411/412 came with it. I "think" most of the 914 1.7L's came with . I have found a couple 1.8's with it in 412's. Nice to have. See if Jake Raby will do the mods he does on his windage trays for you...or see if he will swap you one that is modified. Ray
