Left foot brake pedal

Post by axam48ida »

Has anybody used or built a left foot brake pedal using a vw
pedal assembly. If your wondering what? You still have your normal
pedal assembly and an additional pedal over next to your clutch pedal.
I know most people will heel and toe the brake and throttle, but I was wondering anyway..............any takers??

I use right, left or both feet to brake. I installed the brake pedal from a semi-auto model which is about twice as wide as the normal pedal. I can change feet while braking. For example, I might jump on the anchors with my right foot then move my left foot to the brake pedal aswell so I can then move my right foot on to the accelerator while still braking. Surprisingly there's still plenty of room for the clutch pedal.

I've left foot braked for a couple different places. It helps when you want to keep the revs up but need to set the nose.

Proper use of left foot braking is the same as having a limited-slip differential.... though not possible in all situations with only two legs (unless using a Sportomatic trans).

Yeah, I'm on "end-of-the-line" dial-up, and baulky response is the norm...... but I'm getting high speed in about a week. Can't wait. I'll actually be able to see pictures download in seconds, rather than minutes. (But I thought there was a feature that didn't allow multiple postings from an agitated finger..?)

I know what you mean...my DLS seems to failed at least once a week, and then it's back to dial-up...sometimes I think hand deliver the message faster!
