cb' s rotohub rear disc brake installation question

I'm currently installing cb performance's 'rotohub' rear disc brake kit with emergency brake on my 74 standard beetle project car. I have a question regarding the installation for those of you that have expereince with this kit.

QUESTION: The CB instruction's call for a "spacer" to be installed on the axle between the rotor and the axle nut for LONG AXLE - IRS suspensions. The kit doesn't include any kind of spacers. When I hand tighten the axle nut onto the rotor there is very little room for any kind of "spacer" because of the cotter pin hole location. Is there some type of washer or spacer I need?

Thanks a ton!

See if you can get through to Bob Tomlinson at CB. He'll know, he's da sh@t! He went through some health probs a little while back so he might not be available. But, I'd give it a try.

I installed the kit on my 69 ghia and I don't think it used the spacer. The cotter pin fits just right. If you need a spacer it will be clear that the pin is not right.

2 cents,

Thanks guys,

I got the roter installed last night and did not need a spacer. I did some investigation about CB's kit and from what I can tell they use to sell a 2 piece rotor & hub assembly for their IRS 4-lug long axle brake kit. With the old 2 piece kit an axle spacer was required for long axle IRS cars.

The new 1 piece rotohub for IRS long axle cars has the correct axle spacing built in so a spacer is not necessary. Thanks for your help!

Thanks again,
Shane
