It does look good! But a question.....if that is a three inch drop in the front....it should be lower in the front than the rear. Did you ever address any issues in the rear end? I can't remember what if anything was done . It looks a hair low in the rear....or is it the driveway and the way it is sitting? Ray

optical illusion... it sits nice and level now that i've done everything... rear wheels sit at 0 camber.

Nice!! I love the stance and the surfboard! Keep up the work, you've got the foundation of building a really nice Type 4 there. :)

well, if i can get the 412 FI sorted, i can driver her again... it will even have a tan interior instead of the worn black interior after this weekend! i'm hoping the new seats are MUCH more comfy than the current stock seats with the springs and metal frame coming though!

I don't know about the seat, never thought about trying it. All U.S. 412 coupes retained the D-Jet injection/ 1.7L/4 speed combo through the end of production, while the wagon and 4 door sedan got the L-Jet/1.8 combo in '74 and were always automatic.

But....to be proper, coupes meant only the two door sedan models. I have seen numerous 1974,412 4 door models with L-jet.
The "coupes" or the two door models...were very few here. I have never seen one without D-jet and a four speed....wether it was 411 or 412. Ray

What, isn't that basically what I said? I believe officially, that they were all classified as sedans by Volkswagen for the U.S. market, that what we call the "wagon" or what was called the"Variant" in other markets was officially classified a "squareback sedan." I believe this is how the Type III was classified also. The title for my '74 "wagon" even says "sedan" on it, and AFAIK, everything is kosher with it. IIRC, this was so that they could classify the Type II officially as a station wagon. Isn't the official classification for what we sometimes call the 411/412 "coupe" or "2 door fastback" the "2 door sedan"? Often, people say " I just got this 2 door 411/412, where do I get such and such part..." when they are often talking about the "wagon/squareback sedan" and may not even know of the existence of the "2 door sedan/coupe/fastback." Confusing enough for you? :?:

i tucked the front bumper into the body almost 3" yesterday and it still could go another 1" and not touch the body. It sure makes it look cleaner though! next i need to tuck the rear into the body as well. nothing like shortening a car 6" or so with all stock parts!

today i dropped the front end a bit more. the height to the front wheel well arch is 23.23". this is the 3rd drop i've done now... can anyone measure that same spot on the front of a stock, nose in the air, car?
