Fiberglass Fenders

Who out there is using fiberglass?
I bought some and want to convert to meaty centerlines..
Wondering if there are any tricks to narrowing them if the full added 6" is not wanted.

Since there are so many different fiberglass Thing fenders out there. Lets start with where you got the fenders. I know a bit about this..

I believe they came from thing shop.. I bought them from someone in LA.. they didn't use them and resold

Just measure outward from the inside lip, draw a line and saw. The Thing Shop video has a brief demo.

Don't laugh.. I've thought of turning a fine tooth blade backwards and doing it on a table saw..
Now that's a trick.. used on vinyl siding etc.

I'm sure it would work -- the edge doesn't have to be pretty, as it's not exposed...

I have cut them wiht a diamond wheel grinder ann a good saber saw witha fine tooth blade. The saber saw worked better. I used an orginal fender as a template to scribe the line. What are your plans for the headlight bucket. I have considered using 6" chrome baja lights to give more frnt tire clearance. The headlight buckets always seem to rub on bigger tires..

Headlight buckets.. good question.. hadn't considered this..
Still putting together a plan..
The thought is to get fat tires on centerlines.

I have Centerlines all the way around.With BFG TA KO's(the KO's have a rim gaurd) 215/75-15 up front and 235/75-15 in the rear. It was hard to find front shocks that would give me full travel. Most of the shocks came with an extention for the top of the shock! I got Bilstein's all the way around!
The front shocks #F 4-B46-049-HO , I get some tire rub on big hits, with minimal rub on the frame or light buckets. I don't have fiberglass fenders so I don't know how much bigger the buckets are. I wouldn't go any bigger then a 215/75-15 up front without changing the front end to kingpin.

I am running Dominators up front and the BFG TA/KO rear. The Thing shop front fenders come without headlight buckets. You with either have to install some or go a different way. I have condsidered cutting a round hole and using the same trim that goes on the tops of the doors to finish the hole where the 6" baja chrome headlight bickets could mount. It would look clean ane offer extra clearance. I too run the same
Bilstiens all around.. Bugs and Buggies sells them for the lowest price n the web that I have found.

Just curios Kubel? What shock #'s for your fronts? I will try to get a pic of my front end with the shocks I listed above(I editted the # forgot the "F" infront of the 4).
