thing Shop Duckboards

I just saw a set of thing shop duckboards.. were OEMs this cheezy

as a cabinet builder you'd be embarassed..

That foreign "rubber wood" with a little poly... ends are done with a disk sander...

The "no slip" buttons have an office staple holding them.. kept together with carbon steel screws.

They did take a router and have them mate to the "button" thats' on teh floors of the thing.. intially 181s had "swiss cheeese mats"

Not horrid.. just a router table away from being a work of art.

I don't think there *were* OEM duckboards for the 181. Time to build your own -- I could swear someone around here or the Samba posted specs at one point.

Emerson Biggs in Nebraska posted the specs and plans for the duck boards he built. He gave permission for anybody who was interested to use his design. I did some research a while ago to try and find out (with no success) where the words duck boards came from. There are a few folks who have posted duck board designs.

I did find the file that has plans and required materials for a do it yourself set of duck boards. Duh!! It was on te RoMTOC Thing data CD////



Does anyone out there have any information on the origin fo the term "Duck Boards"?
