Cam gear and dizzy gear -- same as type 1/3?

Hey folks,

I'm doing a rebuild on my Westfalia engine (AW-case 1800), and I don't much care for how the cam timing gear and the distributor gear look like on my crank......are these the same as the type-1/3 parts? In other words, can I order a type-1 crank gear package/kit for my type-4 engine?

Thanks to those in advance that are wiser than I.

Hi, the cam gears are much smaller on the T1/T3 engine, however the brass distributor gear is the same.

To boot: The original cam gear is riveted in place and new cam gears are for aftermarket cams that use bolts for fastening these together..

Better to replace the cam, gear and followers together. Its usually neccessary anyways.

To clarify.......I have a new cam and followers coming........it's the gear on the crank (that drives the cam) that I am also looking to replace.
