I was looking on the samba the other day, and I saw a gold 4 door in washington state listed under parts, about to be parted out. It turns out that I know the fellow who is parting it. so I contacted him and asked him what was up. turns out it runs, but needs a carb or a fuel injection set up put back on. I think the car is in excellent shape, a real gem.It would be a shame to see it torn apart for parts. I would go get it myself except bringing a vehicle into canada from the U.S. is a real pain. but I thought I would mention it. maybe someone here would be interested in saving this beauty from the wrecker. brings me to tears to see such a nice thing destroyed.

I saw that also, and contacted somebody who had contacted me through a parts ad I had on the samba. She was looking for a decklid, but thought she might consider getting this whole car since it looked so nice. I agree, I would hate to see it be destroyed, it looks absolutely pristine. If I had any resources at all, or space, but alas, I do not.

It seems like the ones I want are always in the Pacific Northwest. Oh well.
