Pulling out clutch slave

Post by Lahti411 »

Hi!
I forgot to take my repair manual with me to the garage, so perhaps you guys could help. So, I need to replace the clutch slave cylinder but how does it come out of the transmission body? I also have couple of spare slave cylinders, but couldn't figure out how should I open those to check their condition. The car is a '72 411 with it's original transmission.
Any help much appreciated!

What year is it? If its the late model 44mm slave cylinder...the easiest way is to put a little penetrating oil around the joint between the cylinder and the transmission and then tap a wide screwdriver into the joint and pry it loose. I usually use a wire brush on a drill to clean the hole in the case...then put anti-sieze compound around the new slave cylinder. Ray

Ok. Thanks!
I already put some penetrating oil between the body and the cylinder last night, so I hope it'll pull out easily this evening.
