His car especially inspired me to get into 412s, looks even better with the latest 18" porsche wheels.

Ah, and I think the narrowest those wheels come in is 8", so now we know that 8" wheels fit in front! That opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

Thanks for the comments guys. I've added a few more pics for you on the for sale thread.

The 18" wheels are indeed 8" wide and they do fit, but only just! I use 1" wide VW 4 to Porsche 5 stud adapters from Machine 7 in the UK to give the necessary clearance from the inner wings. With the current 225 40 18 tyres combination the rears do work.

However, the fronts catch slightly on the outer lip of the front wings when on lock, so I am looking at downsizing to 205 35 18 tyres to see if that helps (would rather do that than trim the lip and the chrome trim, although you wouldn't really be able to see it anyway).

More great pics of a beautiful ride!!

Thanks for more great pics of your sweeeet ride!! Your interior looks great with the great steering wheel and shift knob looks and you still have the stereo spot cover! I like how on the cars in europe the gas filler door latch release is in the storage shelf area and you don't have to reach accross the car. Your car sits so nice too! It has that head forward look, like it's cutting the wind sitting still! The engine bay looks great! The wheels have that perfect line to body look and are really a great look! YOu have the inspiration of cars! What is the sound like of the exhaust? Thanks for the post and doing a great job with your car!! Bill

205/35 18s look expensive...The 215 35 18 and 215 40 18s look much cheaper... 8) I believe that Wally said he still had some rooms with 9's in the rear on his car, probably 10" wide could work with the right tire. Actually, these are the wheels I really want:
