Padded Dash Installation Issue

Post by baileyuph »

The issue is after fitting up a new padded dash on a 69 vert, there isn't a good fit for the glove box door to close, real tight.

I pressed around the opening with my hands and tried to form the opening with the door under pressure, all helped a little, but I am wondering if the is a common problem with the West Coast Pad?

All the aftermarket pads i've seen are nowhere close to the quality or fit of a OEM pad.

I tried from 3 different vendors and returned them all. I finally found a excellent used one in perfect condition.

Found a used one! Lucky you, in a car? I wouldn't know where to look for a good used padded dash for a 69 vert!

What you say is my experience about many of the aftermarket parts, mechanical, body, and interior parts as well. I rebushed the H-Frame on this car because the German H-Frame was built so much better. Cost me more, not the issue though. One has to remember putting junk on a VW, takes the German out of it and when that happens, it all goes away then.

When you say your values are OEM quality over price for junk in the aftermarket, you come in loud and clear.
