Auxiliary Air Regulator (AAR) Repair

Is your idle screw all the way in and your idle still too high? Mine was...
Well a major vacuum leak was from the busted AAR. The AAR is a time/heat activated air bypass valve for the throttle. Inside are a series of resistive heaters that heat a bimetalic coil which cause the bypass valve to close after the engine is warmed up. Mine had a broken heater wire. I replaced the heater with 2 power resistors and it works great now.

Oh! Nicely done! Last one I did I actually went through the trouble of re-winding the original coil. I like your method better! Ray
