anyone looking for one of these? came out of a car that lost an engine. it would include the pedal assembly stuff as well.

$450 for the tranny, shifter stuff and all the clutch items.

I am sure it is no secret I have been asking about a 2-door that has my interest despite it being a couple thousand miles away. I would have an obvious need if I were to buy that 412.

Out of curiosity, since this tranny includes all of the clutch components and the pedal assembly, what would be involved in swapping an automatic out of a 4-door or wagon for all of this?

i have no idea actually. i've never even considered doing it. sorry...

Actually...not to much is involved....per-se.

You need the three point fluid resoivoir out of a four speed
The shift rod, (unique to type 4)
The tunnel plate support for the rear (unique to type 4)
The shift rod coupling rear (unique)
New front shifter bushing (bug/type 3)
Shifter and shift gate (unique)
Either the pedal cluster or just the clutch pedal and you can fab the cross shaft.
Clutch master
Clutch slave
The steel line to the clutch master going from front to rear. This can be fabbed.
The flexible coupling hose to link teh tranny to the steel line. A vanagon model has teh correct threads and works great but you will need a further 4' of steel line with male threads to link the two.

All of the drillings and bolts and holes are already in the car. No fabrication necessary. Its all bolt in. But you must have all of this or no go.
The drive shafts for the auto and manual are the same....unlike the type 3. Ray

i was including the tranny, slave cylinder, master cylinder and pedals. and that doesn't include any shipping.

sold the parts car today to someone in washington that has a 4 speed coupe. he wanted spares!

I have also manual transmissions here, maybe 5 transmissions together.

Shipping might be difficult though... but to Germany I can deliver myself.
