Hi
I am new to the VW world, I recently bought a Beach Buggy that has a 2L type4 engine with a 911 type cooling system with 36Dels. i need to beef the engine up and i am not sure where to start. The car is a daily driver so i need reliability as well. I am open to any suggestions. CAN ANY ONE HELP.

You probably want to post to a different forum like the Type4um. This one is primarily for 411/412's.
Anyway to answer your question a buggy with a T4 motor should run like a scalded dog. If yours is sick do a full tune up including a valve adjustment. You may also want to check the compression. What fuel system are you running, dual carbs, single carb, or fuel injection?
