DAMN I feel like a newbie! How do you use a uni-sync on dual solexes on this car??? There isn't enuff space between the top of the carb & the top of the eng compt! I am pretty sure that between that & trying to time this thing w/a 009 dist in it (set it to what?) is why this new engine in this car runs like crap. How much fuel pressure should there be at the carbs? A freind of mine just aquired this car & it has no rust, a 4 speed, fresh engine & trashed interior (LOL) Thanks all

Well, I'm not sue what is the issue... What is the the body type? Why isn't there enough room? Where are you locted? In the European market there was available those short manifolds, which would fit even under the Variant engine compartment lid. But as I'm not sure what's your peoblem, it's difficult to answer...

The carb type/or manifolds are too tall to put a unisync on the top, cause it hits the area under the rear window in the eng. compt.Air cleaners clear but just barely......... I have a 71 411 2dr that these are on.......Appear to be solex carbs........

Gunson's Carbalancer,
http://www.gunson.co.uk/downloads/G4053_en.pdf, is a shallow tool with a remote flow meter which might prove useful if clearance is a little tight.

I wish I could help. I have never seen a 411/412 with twin carbs. Only fuel injection.
I do remember this much....all of the idle adjusting is done from teh left carb with its central idle adjustment. I understand that once they are set up properly....they are actually pretty good carbs. I would ask this question on the bus forum. They work with pretty much the sam twin carb set all teh time but with more space to work.

Yeah, will give it a try. My biggest prob is the lack of space (LOL)
Thanks
