I have a pair of short Type IV manifolds that will work with Dellardo or Webber 40 or 45 carbs. If you are interested let me know and I will send you some pics

I have bought manifolds that are actually designed for TYPE 4 into TYPE 1 engine conversions and they fit nicely (with dellorto 36 carbs)

these can be purchased via www.csp-shop.de (for who's interested)

Will these manifolds allow carbs to be mounted under the engine lid on a 411 wagon? I might be interested but would like to keep the original look with the OE engine lid in place.

Yes they will

Normally you should be able to mount pancake airfilters

which are 4,5 cm high...

I still need to purchase them

Part No - EMPI8805

You should also be able to mount trumpets and add gauzes on the trumpets (those are even smaller and will fit under the decklid)
