I think I have a 411 engine on my buggy...

I've heard there are some experts here that may be able to help me. I have a type 1 buggy, 69 chassis. I'm assuming it also has a Type 1 transaxle. Manual clutch, not hydraulic. I just acquired it and the original owner told me it had a late 70's Vanagon engine, 2.0. After some research I found that VW didn't make the Vanagon until the 80's. Also based on the Engine # I have come to the conclusion that the engine is either off of a 1970 411 (1.7) or a Porsche 914 of the same year. For anyone with an accurate list the engine # is W0054260. It is stamped on the top of the engine.
Anyway, on with the story. After about 3 days of joyous ownership the throw-out bearing seized and tore the fingers off of the clutch case. Thus began my search for a replacement clutch. I removed the engine and clutch to find a 210mm clutch plate and case paired with a Type 1 throw-out.
What kind of Frankenbuggy did I get myself involved with? I'm guessing the clutch has to fit the Type 1 transaxle splines but be able to bolt to a 210mm flywheel. I've heard of the nightmare of trying to find a replacement 411 clutch. I'm hoping I don't need one.
I'll post some pics this weekend as soon as I figure out how. Any advice?
Thanks in advance for your help!!
