412 4-door for sale on Samba and Ebay

Post by raykinsella »

And as it happens, this car is about five miles from my house here in the Seattle area. I've seen it several times, the only other type-4 on the road around here besides mine. I'd probably bid on it, since after all the only kind of type-4 I haven't had is a four-door. But my wife says three type-fours is more than enough; a fourth one in my garage would probably land me in there with it. But if anybody here does want to come buy this 412, they can come see my fleet while they're here. The seller says the paint is okay but that the clearcoat is coming off in places. I can attest to that. The car does need something done in this department. Otherwise it looks pretty solid.

I have it in my "watching" section on eBay. It is too far away and a 412 is on the back-burner of what I want to get next. The four-door models are my favorite and would be front-burner material if they had a stick. There is a 411 four-door very near me but its price isn't to my liking. So, I will keep lurking along. I am interested to see if it meets the reserve and what that reserve might be.

I dropped a reply in about this on the Samba. You should read it. Yes...this car looks great and needs a new home. But without listing anything done to it....its not worth $2,700. Milage is irrelevant in thecase of type 4's. Ray
