Thing trailing arms question

Post by Rolf »

Hi,
I just send a load of front end parts to be zink plated, both type 1 and
Thing trailing arms. Are they different from each other or are they the
same?? Can't compare them before the parts comes back from zink
plating.

Thanks

I know the lower thing trailing arms are different, ball joints mount from the top.
I may look dumb, but that's just a disguise, I'm a master-mind in the field of espionage!

I've been told that you can get away with using Beetle lower control arms by simply swapping them from side to side. They aren't as beefy as the Thing items but dimensionally they're the same. An easy way to tell them apart is that the Thing has longer shock absorber studs with larger threads.
