help id 70 bus

hey there guys how you doing i cant and dont know how to make out germany vin and the bay window panle i just got has a german vin and has not had tags sence 86 and right now the hole dmv thing is a pain in the ass to get in and out guys in cail no what i mean lol but i can post some pics if it will help just let me know if some one can help thanks. first time bus onwer

hey guys i think i got it if the master cyl has 2 sencers it should be 69-70 right if not is there any way to tell buy cretin things on the bus.

what is the shape of the air vents in the back? are they kind of crescent shaped or fairly squre.
what are the blinker locations
bumper style?
pics would realy help us

Hiya mud,
Even if you can't read a VIN (by the way, a VIN is a VIN whether it's here in the States or in Germany or in Lower Slobovia) all you need to do is to look at the VIN. It's on a metal plate riveted to the frame just ahead of the driver's position. Look through the windshield. If you have a 1970 Bus the third number of the VIN will be a zero. Plain and simple, if that third number is not a zero your Bus is not a 70.

thats the problem there is no vin drivers side window. Thats the problem im haveing. To marow i will be posting some pics so that should help. thanks so far guys

On a 70 model the VIN is in two other places, behind the drivers seat a plate is riveted on, this is the "M" plate and it contains the VIN. Also in the engine compartment below and to the right of the voltage regulator the VIN is stamped into the metal. The vin plate visible through the windsheild was nothing more than a courtesy plate. The title needs to match the vin number stamped into the body metal in the engine compartment.
