Anyone know where you can get the speedometer light bulbs? the little ones that clip in that illuminate the gauge so one can see how fast they are going in the dark. I tried at napa but they looked at me like i was an idiot and had no clue. If available at napa or autozone does anyone have the part number?
thanks!

Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

I have all these bulbs new oe German. I like to go through my VWs and put in all new OE bulbs and save the old working bulbs as spares. Once you replace all your bulbs you tend to go years without a hitch.

The BA7S midget-bayonet base dash bulbs are VW P/N N17 722 2 (12V 2W). Osram P/N 3898
The Altrom brand carried by NAPA incorporates the VW part number, have them look up ATM N177222... 79¢ ea. (compare to $4.99/pr from Mid-America Motorworks).
Here're some other manufacturers' numbers:
GE: 2696
HELLA: 78180
JAHN: 1551
LUCAS: 281
PHILIPS: 12829
NARVA: 17051 AND 101006
STANLEY: 1272
TUNGSRAM: 2695
WAGNER: 11009
BMW dealers should have them under 07 11 9 978 279
6V 1.2W are N17 721 1, Osram 3799
The 12V 1.2W wedge-base ("wheat") bulb used in later buses/`Ghias, MK I Rabbits and in lighted knobs are N17 751 2. - 59¢ ea. at NAPA, $2.99/pr at Mid-America. Similar bulbs (in various wattages) are common in modern Fords, etc...

Nice pn# for bulbs Marc. Exactly correct concerning the price difference.

Re: speedometer light bulbs
what about the holder the bulb clips into, can these be had separately?
give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.
