You guys have first crack...

Post by ubercrap »

I know this should be in the classifieds, but I am clearing the way for a new 412 project and will be parting out some of my basket case 412's and trying to sell some assorted parts. I thought you guys should have the first opportunity since I've been around here the longest discussing Type 4's on the net... I'll sell the cars as they are ('73 and '74 coupes, wrecked basket cases) or I will offer up the parts like complete manual trans drivetrains w/pedal cluster, shifter parts, axles, engine- everything. Swap out your auto for something rarer and more sporty! I'll have side/rear glass, gas heaters, gas tanks, suspension parts, body panels ( rare rear fenders, engine lids), etc... Let me know what you want! I'll be picking these things up out of storage in the next few months. We could work out trades, or if you want to help me assemble and get my project running in exchange for parts (long shot I know, but...).

What i could use is the right rear quarter window from a 411/412 2 door coup and a spare front suspension T-piece and a spare gas tank if possible. These parst would help me finish sub-sassemblies to ship back to Dallas so I can get my car on the road and drive it here. Ray

Yep! Got it! I need to sit down this week and do the budget. Got a minor problem to get straight with IRS... ...but it should not be bad. Ray

That's OK, Type 4 parts aren't "flying off the shelves."

I'm in need of a front windshield, clutch slave, and other small trinkets.

Thanks,

I could really need a pair of front fenders ander rear right fender for 412 2-door Coupe, but I'll guess freight prices overseas to Norway would be killing me!

No can do on the windshields, I don't think I have a single good one on or off of all of my cars. If you need a clutch slave to rebuild, I have them, but the few NOS I have are reserved for me.

The coupe rear "fender" quarters aren't that big, so maybe not impossible to ship. I sent an entire "Westmoreland" U.S. only grille, headlights, and support to Germany from my '85 Golf I was parting out one time, so it isn't impossible.

What do you want for a used clutch slave? Mine has a fair amount of pitting in the bore, too deep to hone out. I was thinking of sleeving it, but it would probably be easier to machine a whole new one.

Do you have a proper one then?

I'll check on everything this weekend. I think I remember the rear quarters I have from the last coupe I parted out being pretty solid. I'll check on the postage to Norway as well.

Also, I will be getting back to working on my 412 wagon project after a long hiatus, so if anyone has a left rear quarter to fit my '74 wagon, I am in need of one- trades?

I have bought a 412 wagon as a parts car, but don't know what shape the rear fenders are. Because of wintertime and lot's of snow I will not be able to pick it up until mid/late april... But will let you know!
