Greetings, i have a 75 bay window panel van with a standard twin carb 2litre motor.
Has anyone modified the standard carbs? I'm thinking about removing the venturi and machining them out to 29-30mm and jetting accordingly.
Will i sacrafice too much bottom end driveability?
Also what is peoples thoughts on pdsit carbs and 009? I'm sure its all been discussed before but I am terrible at uising the search function.

Hmmm, I thought "standard" for a `75 would be an L-Jet 1800.
What's the condition of your throttle shaft bushings? I've never seen 32/34PDSITs with even 10 years' use that didn't need rebushing (or new throttle bodies).
I've seen `em modified as you're contemplating for circletrack racing (mostly 5-6000RPM), don't think they'd work very well in a bus.
35PDSITs will bolt up to the stock manifolds. Personally I'd rather deal with setting up linkage for those than trying to tweak obsolescent crap.

This is an australian delivered/assembled bus so technically the 1600 twin port motor is standard. I'm running a standard 2.0 CJ twin carb motor.
The throttle boddies are new items and the carbs have been kitted recently. Generally they work good, i'm just looking for a bit more in the top end and don't have the funds right now for a carb upgrade.
I think the pdsits have potential.

Could be worth trying if the carbs are good. Rather than cut the venturii in them, see if you can find some core carbs to raid them from and cut those - that way if you find you've lost too much bottom end it'll be quick & easy to go back...

Yeah that was the plan.
I've had some trouble locating a pair to play with in Aus.
