Hi all,

I've been trying to find answers to this for a few days and can't seem to find much information, so I figured I would ask y'all: when replacing the throttle cable on my lovable 1973 bus, what kind of grease do I want to use? The only thing I've been told (by a random guy at Napa when I went to buy some fuses) is white lithium, but I've also found people online saying that gets very gummy. Any suggestions? It sounds like greasing is veryveryvery necessary, but nobody seems to mention what kind of grease...

I have always used just enough wheel bearing grease to keep that cable from rusting.

Sorry Lexi, been sick and missed this as well as didn't even get out of bed all weekend. Yes, a little bearing grease (can get at walmart in a tub or tube) will do the trick. Avoid lithium and other white greases, they will gum up in our winters.

Horn FINALLY arrived Saturday. I'm dropping it in the mail in the next day or so.

Unfortunately I think white lithium is what fuser and i used yesterday, it's what I had around and he said it was fine... hopefully it won't gum up, I'll go invest in some wheel bearing grease as well, just didn't make it to the store in time.
