The cleanest is sell the nice 1.9 distributor and replace it with a 2.1. It is already locked, and about half the height.

Your 1.9 dizzy has more value than a 2.1. Don't wreck it by welding the advance.

But my 2.1 distributor from a "DJ" engine has vakuum advance in it. the bosch part# for the distributor is 0237 022 053 if that helps.

Europe got different combinations...

The late model FI version we got has no mech or vac advance, it's just a trigger.

The "full featured" setup you have should stay together and working as it's a HUGE upgrade for anyone sticking with carbs.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

You can safety wire the weights w/o ruining anything. Same could be said for a drop of JBweld or like epoxy.
Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.
